7/26/2019 On Saturday, August 3, a new edition of Artelemos begins on Cardenal Street of Monforte. The craft show organized by the City Council, as a perfect prelude to the Patron Saint Festivities, will feature in this XXI edition with 29 seats. The sample schedule will be 11.00 a.m. at 2:00 p.m. and from 18.00 h. at 11 p.m. between August 3 and 7.
Artelemos has the will to bring local and Galician handicrafts closer to citizens, while offering artisans a way to present themselves and transfer their work to the public, creating a direct relationship between artisan and consumer that contributes to value the handmade pieces.
The different stands will show a wide variety of craft disciplines: Gundivós pottery, leather, basketry, fashion accessories, leather goods, wood and slate, ceramics, decorative objects, jewelry, miniatures, glass crafts, toys and puppets, among other proposals. Artelemos offers an unbeatable opportunity to find unique and high quality pieces.
The exhibition is completed with demonstrations in which to see the artisans work live and workshops for children. On Day 4 there will be a Palilleras Meeting, promoted from the Palilleras Association of the Ribeira Sacra, with the participation of Palilleras from Sarria and Quiroga.

Mayor of Monforte, José Tomé Roca, invites neighbors and visitors to participate in this leisure proposal that also aims to promote intergenerationality, “we want Artelemos to be a current, intergenerational fair, and we try to bring the youngest population closer the values of handwork and an identity that we want to add as a tourist promotion of our rural and our Ribeira Sacra.”
