04/26/2020 The tourist resources of Monforte de Lemos need time to get to know them. The monuments and museums are some of the main attractions of this Tourist Municipality of Galicia, but also the territory of the city council has a multitude of natural and lanscape attractions.
If the visitor seeks contact with nature, the neighborhood is well aware of where to escape within the municipal capital. The city has parks and gardens in all neighborhoods, but there are spaces that are especially interesting such as the San Vicente hillside and Parque dos Loureiros or Parque de los Condes.
From Parque de los Condes you can start two beautiful walks next to the River Cabe. One of them is to follow the river within the city along the river promenade and the other, runs just in the opposite direction, taking us to Piñeira on a slightly longer walk in which we accompany the course of the Cabe.
River Cabe is the main natural resource in the city and its surroundings, and offers spaces of true beauty and tranquility in places such as the recreational area of Ribasaltas and Villanueva.
Monforte is the end of the fourth stage of the Winter Way to Compostela and the beginning of the fifth stage, which will take the traveler to Chantada. Making the journey is always an attractive leisure option for those who want to be in contact with nature.
And if we still want nature, we are in the capital of the Ribeira Sacra, a territory declared BIC and for which it is pursued to be declared a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. An appointment with an overflowing nature can take us to the Mirador del Duque over the vineyards in socalcos of the river Sil or to the pier of Ponte do Sil, in Monforte city council, from which to enjoy a new perspective and from where the demanding catamaran trips through the Sil canyon start.
Spending a few days living the nature of Monforte de Lemos is always a therapy for the spirit. The audiovisual "Monforte natural" takes us on a tour of these resources. We visited them?
