8/6/2022 On August 15th we celebrate the big day of the Patron Saint Festivities, the day of the Patron Saint, the Virgin of Montserrat. The authorities, accompanied by the Bagpipe Band and the Traditional Dance Group of the Monforte City Council, go from the Plaza de San Antonio to the church of San Vicente de O Pino to celebrate mass, sung by the municipal choir, and a floral offering to the patron saint of the city.
San Vicente de O Pino, one of the emblems of the city, becomes the protagonist on this day and, in addition to focusing the official events of the morning, at midnight hosts the traditional fireworks. The night of the big day, Monforte is filled with light and celebration, which each year attracts numerous visitors willing to see the spectacle that illuminates the Monastery of San Vicente and its Homage Tower.
And if the image of the night of the 15th is made to remain engraved in the memory, the same happens with the night of the 16th when the water fireworks are celebrated. At 12.00 a.m., the river Cabe, next to the Old Bridge, welcomes this appointment that congregates hundreds of people to enjoy the mixtures that the light makes with the water.

10:00 a.m. DAY OF THE PATRONESS Meeting of the authorities and interested persons to go up to San Vicente
11:00 a.m. MASS AND FLORAL OFFERING TO THE VIRGIN OF MONTSERRAT
11:00 a.m. from the Plaza of Spain through the streets of the city. Participants: ÉRBEDO, REDEGAITA, O CEGO DA VENEIRA, OS XOGRARES, MERENZAO, LEMAVOS
12:30 a.m. STREET START OF GIANTS AND BIG HEADEDS
13:00 a.m. CONCENTRATION OF THE TRADITIONAL GROUPS IN THE CENTER OF THE CITY ON THE GAITEIRO DAY
20:15 a.m. STREET PARADE of the groups participating in the Traditional Dance and Music Show from the Campo de la Compañía to the Plaza de España.
20:30 a.m. SHOW OF DANCE AND TRADITIONAL MUSIC in the Plaza of Spain with the performance of the participating groups.
23:00 a.m. VERBENA IN THE COMPANY WITH THE COSTA DORADA ORCHESTRA.
23:30 a.m. DECORATED BOATS IN THE MALECÓN.
